Did You Know: Decibel Levels During A Football Game

Did you know that the average decibel level of sound during a stadium football game is 90 dB?

Loud sounds, such as those experienced during a stadium football game, can cause great damage to hearing. The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health says that levels of 85 dB for an eight-hour time period can cause hearing loss. For every 3 dB increase in sound level, the recommended time of exposure is cut in half! That means that for a stadium averaging 90 dB, a mere four hours of exposure can cause permanent hearing loss.

To protect your hearing, we recommend utilizing ear plugs in environments with dB levels over 60 dB.
